HOUSTON – Texas voters cast their ballot for the 2024 primary runoff election on May 28 to select candidates for a range of significant offices including the U.S. Senate, congressional and legislative positions, and various judicial seats.
In this primary runoff election, voters determined the candidates who will represent the Democratic and Republican parties in the November general election. The candidate securing the majority of votes in a particular race will emerge as the party’s nominee for that position.
A primary runoff election is held to determine a winner when no candidate in the primary election met the threshold for victory.
The polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. on Election Day.
