HOUSTON – Harris County voters cast their ballot for the 2024 primary runoff election on May 28 to select candidates to be on the November ballot for specific races.
Not all Republican voters in Harris County will have a contest on their May 28 Primary Runoff election ballot.
Only Republicans living in Congressional District 7 or Congressional District 29 will be able to cast ballots.
All Democratic voters in Harris County have at least three countywide contests on their ballot:
- Justice, 14th Court of Appeals District, Place 3
- 486th Judicial District Judge
Democratic primary voters registered within the applicable districts may also vote for:
- Texas State Senate District 15
- State Representative District 139
- State Representative District 146
- Constable Precinct 5
- County Tax Assessor-Collector
Harris Appraisal District Director Place 2
A primary runoff election is held when no candidate gets enough votes to win the primary election.
Winners in Tuesday’s runoff will be on the ballot for their party in the November general election.
The polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. on Election Day.
