SAN ANTONIO – The Food Network posted a recipe for peanut butter slices to Facebook and it’s getting trolled hard, for seemingly underestimating even the most basic cooks.
After all, who doesn’t know how to make a peanut butter sandwich?
The Food Network posts a variety of recipes on its Facebook page aimed at cooks of varying degrees of experience and skill.
In the video, the food blogger says there are “little slices of meat, little slices of cheese, pickle slices … why aren’t there peanut butter slices?” And then she proceeds to demonstrate how to make peanut butter slices at home.
First, you spread the peanut butter on parchment paper, then you fold the paper in half and roll the peanut butter out with a rolling pin. Then, you freeze the peanut butter in the parchment paper.
“The next morning it’s frozen! And then you can take little kitchen shears and cut little squares out of it and then throw them back in the freezer and you have a stack of peanut butter slices and you just slap it on, and it’s ready for you and it’s not going to rip your bread,” the blogger said.
Many of the commenters on the post seem to agree that the process - which is supposed to be a mom "hack" - is actually much more difficult than just spreading the peanut butter on the bread.
