HOUSTON – It’s finally here! Houston’s one-of-a-kind toy museum is set to open its doors in October after months of renovation delays.
Located in the Historic 19th Street in the Heights area, husband and wife Matt and Sara Broussard spent almost two years planning the grand opening of Houston’s newest attraction.

The museum contains vintage toys and pop culture items collected throughout decades from the 1800s by Matt Broussard himself inside his garage apartment until, according to a news release, his collection grew large.
Matt Broussard, who is the Chief Toy Officer of the museum, thought about building a museum when his collection of vintage toys grew too large in his garage apartment.
“We want for people of all ages to come into the museum and immediately point to something and say, ‘I remember that!’” said Sara Broussard, Director of the Houston Toy Museum.
Throughout their visit visitors will learn the origins of the toys displayed in the museum, from S.T.E.A.M. toys to gender stereotypes and radical representation, the release stated.
The Houston Toy Museum is located at 321 West 19th Street, Suite C. and will open its doors on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 10 a.m.
