The Woodlands has been ranked as the #1 best city in the United States to buy a house for the second consecutive year, according to the newly released survey by Niche.com.

The Woodlands placed second in the ranking by Niche.com as the best city to live in the United States and also ranked second as the best city to raise a family this year. The township has consistently been in the top 5 ranking over the past several years. The Woodlands is also ranked as the best place in the Houston area with public schools.

According to the Niche.com rankings, The Woodlands is categorized as a township but is commonly referred to as a “city” due to its population of 115,716, which exceeds 100,000. The Woodlands was awarded an A+ grade for its public schools, job opportunities and family-friendly environment, according to the press release.

“We are immensely honored to be recognized once again as the top choice by Niche.com for the best city in the United States to buy a house for the second consecutive year,” remarked Township Chairman Dr. Ann K. Snyder in a press release. “Securing the #2 spot for best city to Llie in and best city to raise a family further solidifies our commitment to providing an exceptional living experience.”

Also included in the Houston-area rankings was Cinco Ranch, which was rated as the best place to raise children and live. Eldridge/West Oaks was rated the most diverse place to live in the Houston area. Among Houston’s neighborhoods, Oak Ridge North was rated as the number one place to buy a house. Porter Heights is rated as the area with the lowest living costs.

Niche.com is a website that helps students and families find places to live that suit their needs. On its website, Niche outlines the criteria used for its rankings highlighting that their data analysts are dedicated to constantly reevaluating the data collected to make certain their stats are up-to-date, accurate and complete.
