Houston businesses are honoring Veterans Day with special deals and freebies for service members, from free meals to discounts around the city.
McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant: Veterans, National Guard members, and Gold Star families can enjoy a half-priced entrée on Nov. 10, 2024, with options like Cedar Roasted Salmon and Wagyu Steak Frites. For $15 more, they can upgrade to a three-course meal. Reservations are encouraged, and proof of service is required. Houston locations include Greenstreet, Uptown Park, and Town & Country.

Golden Corral: At all Golden Corral locations, military personnel, veterans, and retired members receive a free buffet and drink on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, from 4 p.m. until close. This is part of their 23rd Annual Military Appreciation Night, one of the few veteran recognition programs that require no proof of service or purchase.
State Fare Kitchen & Bar: Veterans and active-duty members are invited to enjoy a free meal from a special menu on Nov. 11, featuring items like the State Fare Burger, Chicken Fried Ribeye, and Vegan Spaghetti. Proof of service is required. Locations include Memorial, Sugar Land, and The Woodlands.
Liberty Kitchen & Oysterette: Liberty Kitchen is offering veterans a free bowl of gumbo on Nov. 11. Available at River Oaks and Memorial locations, this deal requires proof of service.
River Oaks Theatre: As part of their grand reopening, River Oaks Theatre welcomes veterans and active-duty military with a free movie ticket and popcorn for any screening on Nov. 11. Proof of service is required at the box office.
Star Cinema Grill: Veterans and active-duty military get one free admission and a small popcorn on Nov. 11 at all eight Greater Houston Star Cinema Grill locations. Proof of service is required.
Perry’s Steakhouse: Perry’s is offering veterans a free Dinner-Cut Pork Chop when dining with a guest who purchases an entrée. If dining alone or with other veterans, they can enjoy a pork chop at half price. The Military Menu is also available for extended hours on Nov. 11. Proof of service is required.
Twin Peaks: Twin Peaks invites veterans and active military to a complimentary lunch on Nov. 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The offer is available at all Houston-area Twin Peaks locations and requires a military ID.
Comfort Foodies: In a pre-Veterans Day celebration on Nov. 10, Comfort Foodies is offering veterans a free Beef, Chicken, Shrimp, or Spinach Empanada. Proof of service is required. Location: 8128 N Sam Houston Pkwy W.
The Fox Trap Restaurant & Lounge: Veterans and active-duty military are invited to enjoy two free Turkey Burger Sliders with fries on Nov. 11. Proof of service is required for this dine-in-only special.
The Savoy: The Savoy offers veterans and active military a free lunch on Nov. 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring items like Chicken and Waffles and Shrimp and Grits. Proof of service is required.
Taste Kitchen + Bar: Taste Kitchen + Bar is treating veterans and active-duty members to a complimentary breakfast on Nov. 11 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. with proof of service. Location: 420 Main Street, Downtown Houston.
Azumi: The modern Japanese restaurant Azumi is offering veterans a 50% discount on their check on Nov. 11. Guests can enjoy signature dishes like Crispy Tuna and Yakisoba Noodles. Location: River Oaks District, Houston.
Candente: Year-round and especially on Veterans Day, Candente supports veterans with its La Bandera dish. $2 from every order is donated to Camp Hope, supporting veterans with PTSD.
Home Run Dugout: On Nov. 10, Home Run Dugout will host its 2nd Annual Veterans Day Chili Fest at 1 p.m. The event features a chili cookoff among local breweries, with all proceeds supporting Katy VFW.
Loch Bar: Veterans receive a 50% discount on Nov. 11 at Loch Bar in River Oaks District. Enjoy dishes like Maryland Crab Cakes and the Lobster Roll while sampling their extensive whiskey list.
Marmo: Marmo, the Italian chophouse, honors veterans with a 50% discount on their check on Nov. 11. The offer includes favorites like Squid Ink Campanelle and Texas Redfish. The Montrose location also has a happy hour from 3-6 p.m.

Money Cat: Veterans receive a 10% discount on ttim heir meal at Money Cat on Nov. 11. Enjoy Japanese specialties like the Uni Toast and Spicy Crunchy Tuna Roll.
Tavola: Veterans dining at Tavola on Nov. 11 will receive a 50% discount on their meal, with options like Cacio e Pepe and Chicken Parmigiana. Located on bustling Post Oak Blvd.
Zanti Cucina Italiana: Veterans can enjoy a complimentary three-course meal at Zanti on Nov. 11. The menu includes Truffle Cheese Ravioli, Flank Steak, and Panna Cotta. Location: River Oaks.
