âI donât understand. Iâm so sorry. I wish I could do something, but I canât. I donât know what to do,â Gomez tearfully said in the now-deleted video, according to a report by Rolling Stone.
The video was reportedly in response to recent deportations and immigration raids under current policies, which could displace thousands, including families with young children. Gomez referred to the situation as an attack on her âpeopleâ and emphasized the toll itâs taking on vulnerable individuals.
Shortly after posting, Gomez deleted the video after receiving mixed reactions online.
She later shared a follow-up post, writing on a black screen: âApparently, itâs not ok to show empathy for people.â
This isnât the first time Gomez has spoken out about immigration issues. She has often used her platform to shed light on humanitarian concerns and amplify voices from marginalized communities.
