Clear Lake, Tx – On Tuesday, March 18, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Marine Unit responded to a distress call from a stranded vessel near the flood gates of Clear Lake. The vessel, which had lost all power, was drifting when the HCSO team arrived promptly on the scene.

Once the Officers arrived, they helped the owner of the vessel, a retired Air Force veteran, and provided him with food and water from the Marine Unit personnel.

Ensuring his safety and the immediate assistance, the HCSO Homeless Outreach Team was contacted to extend further support during the incident.

After assisting the owner, the vessel was successfully towed to safety.
According to Sergeant Benjamin Luce, he gave recognition to Deputy Eric Basse, Deputy Jerry Jones, Deputy Javier Rojas, and Deputy Jason Denby for their swift response and dedication to service.
