88-year-old Richmond woman missing after house fire

An early morning house fire in Richmond has left an elderly woman missing, prompting an urgent search by local authorities.

The Richmond Fire Department responded to a structure fire call at approximately 6:30 a.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Fort Street. After putting out the fire, it was discovered that the resident, who was reportedly at home before the fire, was missing.

The missing woman has been identified by family members as 88-year-old Loretta Dickson Turner.

She is described as approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with brown eyes. Although her natural hair is short and black, she often wears a wig and was last seen wearing a maroon wig.

While it is too early in the investigation to determine if foul play is involved, family members expressed that it would be highly unusual for Ms. Turner to leave without notifying someone.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but the primary concern for authorities is the safety and whereabouts of Loretta Dickson Turner, who has been officially listed as a missing person by the Richmond Police Department.

Richmond Police detectives are urging anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Loretta Dickson Turner or the circumstances surrounding her disappearance to contact the Richmond Police Department at (281) 342-2849.
