Enjoy Sierra Mist while you can, fans -- there’s a brand new lemon-lime soda coming soon to replace it.

This week, PepsiCo introduced their newest addition to their family: Starry, which is a lemon-lime flavored soda that is part of a latest effort to take on Coca-Cola’s Sprite.

According to CNN, the newest drink is set to roll out to grocery stores and convenience stores nationwide this week.

In a news release, PepsiCo released a statement saying that “internal research showed that demand for lemon lime flavored sodas has never been greater.” This prompted the company to develop a new lemon-lime soda that gives people a “choice in an area that’s been dominated by one brand for years.”

CNN reported that Sierra Mist launched in 1999, however it wasn’t much of a hit against Sprite.

PepsiCo is planning to promote Starry with TV and digital ads, as well as maintain a social media presence through TikTok ads.
