This wine duo will round out your Easter feast

HL (HL)

Hello, fellow wine lovers! Derrick Shore here. This week, we’re highlighting a delicious pinot noir worthy of your next dinner party and an $8 bottle of bubbly that should be a staple in your refrigerator.

It’s all part of Wine Club Wednesday Poured by H-E-B, but before we get to the goods, we’re meeting sisters Marisa and Mattie from Friendswood!

They grew up in the Texas City area and their friends call them the “twisted sisters” because they’re so much fun. Long before our HL Wine Club even existed, Mattie and Marisa were getting together weekly for their “Women and Wine on Wednesdays” hangout. They are lucky enough to live within a five mile radius of each other and their three siblings, so they get together often to celebrate with food and wine and laughs. We’re so glad they’re part of our Wine Club!

Now back to today’s wines which will go great with your Easter brunch!

H-E-B Wine Specialist Nicolas Perkins, who has years of experience in wine retail, is walking us through this week’s picks. First up is a delicious bottle of bubbles that’s good enough to drink on its own and also great for mimosas. It’s called “Arte Latino” and comes in at the unbelievable price point of $8! Yes people, $8! With hints of green apple and citrus, this wine is aged for at least a year in underground caves (“Cava” is Spanish for “cave”) and is the perfect pairing for Easter Brunch menu items like quiche, smoked salmon, and eggs benedict.

Next up, a fab Rose Rock Oregon Pinot Noir with an elegant and refined taste. It’s an easy-to-drink red, not heavy, and in fact the Drouhin family, who makes the wine, has wine-making roots that date back to 1880 in Burgundy, France! The fact that it’s certified sustainable makes us love it even more. The price is around $35 and we think each drop is worth every penny.

Don’t forget that right now the H-E-B Wine Favorites sale can save you 15% off when you buy six or more bottles. Just look for the “Wine Favorite” tag on the shelf. It’ll save you money and ensure you’re getting a delicious bottle that’s hand-selected by an H-E-B Wine Specialist like Nicolas. Don’t be surprised if you see Courtney and me (and Marisa and Mattie) on the wine aisle, too! 😉
