‘There is nothing bigger than that for me’: Country star Parker McCollum reflects on his RodeoHouston debut

The popular singer-songwriter will take the RodeoHouston stage in March of 2022

HOUSTON – After the big success of his hits ‘Pretty Heart,’ ‘To be Loved by You,’ and a string of sold-out shows all over the nation, Conroe native Parker McCollum finds himself on the verge of country music superstardom.

The singer-songwriter chatted with Houston Life about his phenomenal rise to the top and the emotional moment when he found out he was going to be performing at RODEOHOUSTON in 2022.

“I pulled over on the side of the road, I called my dad. There is nothing bigger than that for me. The Houston Rodeo is, from the time I was 10 years old, my only goal in life was to be big enough in country music where I could go headline the Houston Rodeo and getting that phone call, literally I pulled over on the side of the road, shaking,” said the 29-year-old who admitted he cried when he got home after hearing the news he would play at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

“It’s quite literally everything I’ve ever wanted,” said the artist who graduated from The Woodlands College Park High School and has skyrocketed on country music charts with his album “Gold Chain Cowboy.”

McCollum will perform live at RODEOHOUSTON Saturday, March 12, 2022.

Tickets will go on sale to the public on Jan. 13, 2022, at rodeohouston.com.
