St. Patrick’s Day games you can play at home

HOUSTON – It’s that time of the year to celebrate all things Irish!

And if you want to be the life of the paddy, put your luck to the test with some fun family-friendly games.

Watch the video above to see how Houston Life’s Derrick Shore and local news reporter Courtney Zubowski go head-to-head in a fun St Paddy’s tournament to see some ideas that the whole family will enjoy and will get you ready to shamrock and roll.

Our friend, TV reporter Cheryl Piccio hosted the hilarious activities.

To see the list of materials needed, keep reading below.

1. Cabbage Crawl:

Materials: duct tape, cabbage for each player.

For this game, you must push ahead of cabbage towards the finish line using just your head while you crawl on your hands and knees.

Make sure to hit the cabbage with the top of your head, not with your forehead so it’s less uncomfortable for y’all!

2. Shamrock Shake:

Materials: Empty tissue box, pair of pantyhose taped to the tissue box, 20 ping pong balls for each box.

Tie this tissue box around your waist. As soon as the timer starts, you must shake your hips and do a “shamrock shake” to be the first one to get all of the ping pong balls out.

3. Lucky on the green:

Materials: Straw, plate, and a pile of green m&m’s.

Whoever transfers the most m&m’s from the plate t the cup is the winner but keep in mind that the only thing you can touch is your straw – not the cup or the candies.

4. Minute for the Gold:

Materials: chopsticks, gold coins, green container, or bowl.

For this challenge, the goal is to use chopsticks to get all your gold coins from one container to another in the quickest amount of time!

5. Irish Shake Weight:

Materials: 2-liter bottle, a box of Lucky Charms, duct tape.

Shake the bottle to get all of the Lucky Charms from one bottle to the other.
