Spring firefighters shoot calendar with shelter dogs

2023 Spring Fire Department Calendar releasing this fall

Spring – Firefighters with the Spring Fire Department just wrapped up a steamy calendar shoot with local rescue animals. The calendar will be available to purchase this fall. Several firefighters posed shirtless with animals from Harris County pets. “My wife said go ahead and show it off, “ firefighter Steffon Marsh said. Out of the 21 dogs photographed, only six are still available. The rest were adopted, fostered or pulled by a rescue group. “It was definitely a new experience,” firefighter Jonathan Hart said. “Something out of the ordinary that you don’t always do at the fire station.”

The calendar will be released in 2023 because it marks Spring Fire Department’s 70th year in service to their community. “First day on the shoot, there’s cameras, lights,” volunteer firefighter Chris Carrero said about being a little intimidated. “You have to get out of your comfort zone for sure but it’s a lot of fun. I had two puppies in my hands, they were gorgeous.”

It is expected to be released in mid-September and will cost $20 per calendar. Calendars will be sold in stores and restaurants in Old Town Spring, online at their website, at Spring Fire Department’s Administration Building at 656 E. Louetta, at Harris County Pets on Canino and at Spring Fire Department events.

This is not their first calendar. Spring Fire released a calendar in 2020. It raised thousands of dollars for Friends of Harris County Pets and thousands for the Spring Firefighter Assistance Fund.
