Over a decade ago, Jennifer Lopez-Fuller Lived in The Woodlands and loved finding out about restaurants in the area with great food through Facebook groups.
But when she was thinking of moving to the Bay Area, she couldn’t find similar FB groups. She took matters into her own hands and started the Bay Area Houston Food Lovers group in 2015.
It started as a way for her to tout and share her love for local eats and businesses. But now, the group has grew to almost 65,000 members.
With the group, came great success. In 2019, she decided to offer a card as way for people to show they are a part of the group and get the pre-determined reward out of it -- like free dessert!
The $5 cards with 35 participating restaurant took off and grew. Now, the card is $25 for an entire year and cardholders can choose from over 250 restaurants and businesses.
