HOUSTON – Today on Houston Life, we were in for a jazzy treat. The TSU Jazz Ensemble performed live in Studio B to preview one of the many activities you’ll experience at the free, family-friendly event, Midtown Houston’s Black History Now Celebration, happening this Saturday.
Once a part of the historically Black Third and Fourth Ward communities, Midtown Houston presents this festival to celebrate black history and culture through food, engaging exhibits, art, and music.
With a remarkable list of vendors, musicians, and artists, there’s something for everyone, including your children. From a pop-up bookstore to interactive chalk art and face painting, the little one will enjoy the outdoor festivities.
Watch the video above for the full interview and performance. It will surely keep your toes tapping.
