No crawfish? No problem. Heat up your next seafood boil with other crave-worthy options

Houston – Stanley and Jamie Alford created their crawfish catering company after evacuating their home in Louisiana in 2016 due to catastrophic floods. The Alfords had to find a way to start over, and they did just that - relocating to Houston with their family, where they managed to triumph together.

During the pandemic, and with a lot of faith, their business “Out the Mud” transformed into a top-notch seafood delivery service that dropped off ready-to-eat seafood boils to your doorstep or company gathering.

In February 2022, Stanley came on Houston Life and we’re so glad he came back and brought Jamie!

We know a lot of you have been worrying about crawfish season and what the shortage means for your upcoming gatherings and boils. The weather has played a big part in the lack of mudbugs this year, but Stanley says he believes the industry will bounce back by March.

Until then, consider other seafood boil options like shrimp boils, crab boils and lobster boils. You might have to plan your crawfish boil towards March and April as it will allow the supply of crawfish to increase and the price to decrease.

You can also connect with Out The Mud for a “Boil in a box” delivery to your home. It’s another alternative to buying your own crawfish to boil.

”Boil In A Box” is crawfish boil cooked in their pots and then put into coolers to be transported immediately to your doorstep. The boxes can be customized to fit your event’s needs with crawfish, crab legs, shrimp, and more.

Choose from 15, 30, or 100 Lbs. of seafood and fixings like Louisiana sausage, corn, and potatoes.

The Alfords tell us they come from humble beginnings and will never forget where they came from, Out The Mud.
