Houston – Hit the road with ‘26 Miles’ as it makes its regional debut at Houston’s Main Street Theater.
Rosarito Rodríguez-González and Joy Germany play Beatriz and Olivia, a mother and daughter left estranged for eight years after a custody battle. When Olivia calls Beatriz late in the night for help, the pair set off on am impromptu cross-country road trip. The destination? Two thousand miles from Pennsylvania to Wyoming. This reunited pair run frantically and hilariously from the secrets in their lives, hunting valuable antiques, chasing arctic explorers, getting lost in Wyoming’s wilderness – and finding their way again as mother and daughter.
The performance’s director, Tejana-Indigenous actress, Amelia Rico lives in Houston. She stayed after attending the University of Houston, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Acting/Directing.
She has been in popular shows like “Yellowstone”, “1923″, and “Dark Winds”, and “Grey’s Anatomy”.

Now, she’s returning to her roots in theater as director for “26 Miles” at Main Street Theater.
Whether in front or behind the camera, Rico tells us she always focuses on authentic representation and believes “26 Miles” is an indigenous story because of its elements, music and themes throughout the production.
