HOUSTON – Many Houstonians might know Houston designer Christina Greene for her striking combination of gold and turquoise jewelry. What they might not know is that she credits the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo with the growth and success of her business.
As a child, Christina attended the Rodeo with her family year after year. “It was something that my grandfather was very involved in and so is my dad and it’s really where I got my love for Rodeo,” said Greene. “So when I was given the opportunity to have a booth at the rodeo, I couldn’t I just couldn’t say no.”
10 years ago Christina got the chance to have a small booth inside NRG Center. Little by little she built her customer base by having trunk shows, building her online presence, and continuing to sell her jewelry, accessories and clothing at Rodeo.
Today, you can find her products being sold out of a brand new, crisp white and turquoise booth that is triple the size of her original booth.
It’s been a big year for Greene, who just also opened a brand new Christina Greene brick and mortar location near Voss and Woodway. Just like her father and grandfather, she now holds a leadership position at Rodeo. “This is my first year serving on the board of directors and this is something that I’ve wanted forever. It’s definitely a very big honor,” said Greene.
