The man behind Proud Pie in Katy is hitting all the right notes with new guitar charity venture

Houston – Happy Pi Day!

Scott Chapman, owner of Proud Pie in Katy, says his artisan pie bakery is a labor of love and a one-of-a-kind concept that marries homemade pies and gourmet coffee.

There’s no doubt that Chapman has built a successful business, but when he isn’t making pies, he returns the favor to his community.

You can find him supporting the local Girl Scout troop or participating in The Katy Pie Run that benefits the PTSD Foundation of America. Chapman is now extending his charitable endeavors beyond the world of pastries into his new venture, Pieman Guitars. He’s refurbishing guitars to donate to various local charities. These refurbished guitars make their way all over the country to be signed by musical artists. They are then auctioned off to charities dedicated to providing various channels of support to the community.

Speaking about his latest initiative, Chapman expressed his belief in building relationships in Katy and says Pieman Guitars started because of his love for the community, the city of Katy, and of course, music.

Proud Pie is located at 3522 S Mason Rd. in Katy. Take a look at their menu here.
