At the third annual City Market, you can browse an incredible selection of handcrafted goods and delectable treats from local artisans and entrepreneurs. Not only will you be supporting small businesses, but you’ll also contribute to a great cause that benefits the Houston community.
The market organizer, Houston Junior Forum (HJF), is a nonprofit organization led by an all-women team. For more than 75 years, they served Houston’s youth, women, and seniors through its charitable programs, positively impacting the community. The organization has raised more than two million dollars in scholarships and one million dollars in community grants, and it remains committed to serving the community through its strong community service initiatives.
HFJ’s Vice President of Financial Resources Linda West stopped by Houston Life with a preview. Joining her was one of the market vendors Tassy Beasley, owner of FINDITGIRL and a representative of The Hive: A Pop Up Collective. The Hive is a co-op boutique featuring Houston’s best and unique brands, entrepreneurs, and small businesses, located in Rice Village. The annual City Market is happening on April 5 and 6 at POST Houston. You can help HJF raise funds for college scholarships and community grant programs while treating yourself to a shopping spree. Even though admission is free, The City Market offers attendees exclusive events to enhance their shopping experience for a price.
