Have you ever been in a situation where you needed to shred documents with sensitive information, but felt afraid it might fall into the wrong hands?
Not to worry because we have a solution. Comerica Bank provides the Houston community with a safe and secure way to dispose of papers with personal information and prevent identity theft.
Comerica Bank Shred Day is an annual one-day shredding event free to the community. All the paper will be turned into mulch and recycled after the documents are securely destroyed. There is no limit to the amount of paper you can bring, however, large amounts might be redirected to a nearby plant.
As you declutter yourself from all the paper, remember to keep documents you cannot recreate digitally.
SO WHAT CAN YOU BRING?
- bank statements
- receipts
- credit applications
- pre-approved credit card offers
- cancelled checks
- income tax returns
- old medical records
- utility statements
- any other sensitive documents
AND WHAT ‘NOT’ TO BRING?
- moldy or wet paper
- 3-ring binders, clips
- hanging file folders
- electronic storage media (thumb drives, CDs)
- liquids, plastics, or trash
And while you’re busy shredding, you can support the Houston Food Bank. At the annual Shred Day event, Comerica sponsors the Houston Food Back to raise money and food for young Houstonians unable to receive free meal assistance at school due to summer vacation. The Houston Food Bank will collect cash, credit card donations, and nonperishable food items onsite.
