Houston – Whether you’re already in your motherhood journey or expecting a bundle of joy soon, there’s a fantastic resource in Houston that many don’t know about.
It’s The Motherhood Center in the Greenway/Upper Kirby area. Founded 24 years ago by Gabriela Gerhart, the facility was created out of her desire to give women a resource they could trust and was inspired by Gerhart’s upbringing small mountain village in Czechoslovakia.
Gerhart holds degrees in pediatric nursing and physical therapy and is well versed in pediatric emergencies and being an Au Pair. She’s also certified in breastfeeding education, postpartum doula, and prenatal massage. Gerhart says it was very natural to her to start something like The Motherhood Center and use it as a village and support system for clients.
When Gerhart ended up in Houston at the turn of the decade, she was stunned to know that there weren’t any resources for mothers and growing families that could cater to their individual needs.
The Motherhood Center offers a range of services designed to empower new and expectant parents. There are educational resources on pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding and wellness services like spa treatments, yoga classes, and Pilates classes designed specifically for mothers.
Mother’s Day Baby Bump Social
The Motherhood Center is preparing for their monthly social event ahead of Mother’s Day. The Baby Bump Social is free and tailored for parents and parents-to-be, providing them with a unique opportunity to engage directly with experts on various topics related to pregnancy and parenthood. There will be chances to win prizes like CPR training and classes, light refreshments and opportunities for a tour of the facility.
