New Braunfels – Houston Life took over New Braunfels! Just over three hours west of Houston, the city is the perfect destination for the family or a romantic getaway.

Plus, is it really a trip to the hill country without some wine? Lauren Kelly set out to Gruene where you can try one of the largest selections of Texas wines in the area. She also visited the iconic Gruene Hall. Photojournalist Lenny Juarez also visited the historic Gruene Mansion Inn. It was originally built as a private residence in 1872. Now, it operates as a unique home away from home.
Derrick Shore spent the day visiting the various places throughout the city like the charming Prince Solms Inn and Sidecar, a hidden speakeasy within the Inn.
