HOUSTON – The country rock band, Tilluride, consists of 6 members: Ron “Ronimal” Forest, Jeff “Jeffrey” Hunt, David “Dave” Cadriel, Christopher “Deuce” Jacko, Jesse “Low End” Ortiz, and Johnny Ray Blackwell.
They are using their unique sound to promote awareness about mental health among military members.
Their newest song, “Death of a Hero,” embodies the silent struggle so many people in the military endure.
“It’s a poem that I wrote 18-plus years ago and brought it to the guys in the band, and we composed it into an actual song,” said drummer Ron “Ronimal” Forest.
Half of the band has served in the military, and the guys acknowledge how difficult it can be to reacclimate to civilian life.
“The struggle is as real at home as it is on the battlefield,” said lead singer David “Dave” Cadriel.
Today on the show, Tilluride performed their original song honoring military men and women. Watch their performance and full interview as they end the conversation with a powerful message in the video above.
“If you’re lonely and you need help, we’ll help you. We’ll help you, we’ll guide you, and we’ll get you in the right direction,” Forest said.
And tonight, you can see them in person. They will perform tonight, May 24, at Home Run Dugout in Katy.
