Houston – If your goal this month is to show off your pride, the Houston Dash has you covered with five collaborative events to celebrate inclusivity.
“We call them Dash Bashes because the Dash like to have a lot of fun,” the chief marketing officer of the Houston Dash, SJ (Sarah Jo) Luedtke said.
The kickoff event, is tonight, June 13 at Pearl Bar, which is the only lesbian bar in the city of Houston. It’s fitting that Houston’s only professional women’s team is out supporting the LGBTQIA+ community.
“Our players are fantastic, they take time out of their days whenever they can, they are really busy as you can imagine; but they love to give back and this is honestly one of their favorite events we do all year long,” Luedtke said.
The Dash has also partnered with Pride Threads. Fans can purchase the newly designed t-shirt as part of a package for the Dash game Saturday, June 15 game or the Dynamo game on June 29. Fans can also purchase the Pride Night shirt at the team store starting on June 15.
The Dash will treat the first 2,500 fans to enter the Shell Energy Stadium on June 15 to a Pride-inspired crossbody bag, courtesy of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
The Dash leans into the Houston community while staying competitive on the pitch.
“Our Dash players are phenomenal, they continue to find ways to support the things we do,” Luedtke said.
