HOUSTON – In just over two weeks, the sparkling Opening Ceremony for the Paris Olympics will take place along the Seine river. This year, for the first time ever, audiences around the globe will be able to experience the games in a totally new way. NBCUniversal has partnered with platforms like TikTok, YouTube and Snapchat to send 27 creators to Paris to highlight everything from the food to the fashion and all kinds of other moments you won’t see on TV.
One of those creators is Houstonian Jasmine Nguyen. She became known on the national stage as a contestant on season 24 of The Bachelor and seamlessly leveraged her appearance on the show to create a robust following on social media. On platforms like Instagram and TikTok Jasmine has become a go-to source for skincare, haircare, fashion, design and gift guides.
“I’m very grateful for it and it’s crazy that you can make such a career out of social media,” said Jasmine, who now has 781,000 followers on TikTok.
Jasmine’s gig with NBCUniversal is all part of their Paris Creative Collective, which aims to reach a new generation of Olympics fans. Aside from her daily work responsibilities while in Paris, Jasmine will be able to enjoy some personal time with two of her biggest fans -- her mom and sister.
“The opportunity to go to Paris to cover that, to be able to bring family members, you can’t put a price on something like that.”
