HOUSTON – Believe it or not, 2024 marks the landmark 25th anniversary of Nickelodeon’s hit animated series, Spongebob Squarepants!
It’s been most-watched animated series for 22 consecutive years, and it first premiered in July of 1999 giving viewers plenty of beloved characters, memorable lines and episodes, pop culture catchphrases, memes, movies, and even a Tony Award-winning Broadway musical.
The anniversary celebration will continue on Nickelodeon with plenty more new episodes (yay!) plus “Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie” will debut on Netflix August 2nd.
