HOUSTON – Local dad Bruce Bradford is on a mission to help bring awareness to a rare heart condition that took his son’s life in 2012.
It’s called aortic dissection -- and it’s the same condition that took the life of actor John Ritter in 2003.
And now each year, the annual Remebrin’ Benjamin Golf Tournament continues the battle for Ben, John and millions of others fighting against aortic and vascular diseases. Amy and Bruce have been spreading knowledge and education about the condition in hopes that it could save the lives of many others.
The 8th annual Golf Tournament and Fundraiser at Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club in Katy is to support the stated mission of the John Ritter Research Program at McGovern Medical School - in honor Benjamin Bradford who died suddenly on July 20, 2012, at the age of 24, as a result of Aortic Dissection.
The purpose of Remembrin’ Benjamin, Inc. is to support the research and education efforts (such as those at the JRRP) related to Aortic and Vascular Disease and specifically educate the medical community and general public to minimize the devastating effects of Aortic Dissections.
Watch as Lauren Kelly chats with Bruce Bradford and actress Amy Yasbeck about how people can get involved, and educated.
