Actor/singer Constantine Maroulis chats latest musical project ‘Next To Normal’ at the Hobby Center

HOUSTON – In 2005, Constantine Maroulis made his debut on season 4 of American Idol, giving viewers electrifying rock performances each week.

But his career was just getting started

Constantine went on to star in shows like ‘Jekyll & Hyde, ‘The Wedding Singer,’ ‘Spring Awakening,’ ‘Rent,’ and even gained a Tony Award nomination for his performance in ‘Rock of Ages’ on Broadway.

Constantine’s latest role brings him to Houston for a musical called ‘Next To Normal,’ which opens at the Hobby Center on Friday.

Constantine plays the character ‘Dan’ in this show that explores how one suburban household copes with crisis and mental illness.

This deeply moving piece has an emotional pop/rock powerhouse musical score and takes audiences into the minds and hearts of each character, presenting their family’s story with love, sympathy and heart.
