Local dad turned food influencer grills up a game day delight

Chris Roberston boasts over 325,000 followers on Instagram under the handle @cookinwithswiss.

“Everyone thinks my name has to do with cheese, it has nothing to do with cheese,”

His favorite movie growing up was Swiss Family Robinson and since his last name is Robertson, the nickname stuck, and he hated it.

“So, like any nickname you start off hating it, then, you wear it like a badge of honor,” he joked.

Chris is a family man, he’s got 2 beautiful little girls, Etta and Florence. His supportive wife, Karina, is expecting another baby soon (I can’t help but think of how well this sweet family must eat.)

“I got my girls a lot of times, behind the scenes, hopefully they will do some cooking with me,” Chris said.

It doesn’t take long to realize Chris is all Texan, meaning his page is very meat-forward.

“Me being a jumbo-petite model I love steak, so I just went all in on it, and the bigger the steak, the better the video would do,” Chris admitted.

Chris has big goals, he’s currently asking his followers for their input on his next venture, his very own signature seasoning. He’s a prime example of someone who had a passion, put in the work, and is now living the dream.

“I’ve always been someone who just loves to eat,” he laughed.

Here’s the chimichurri recipe that goes great with a game day steak:

-chopped parsley

- chopped cilantro

-minced garlic

-minced shallot

-red wine vinegar

-oil of choice (Chris like avocado seed)

-oregano

-crushed red pepper

-salt and pepper
