From fireworks to a drone show, Labor Day weekend in Galveston promises nonstop family fun

HOUSTON – From fireworks over the sea wall, to a drone show party in the historic downtown Strand District, there will be no shortage of fun in Galveston to close out summer 2024!

First off, Labor Day weekend in Galveston will be one big, weekend long celebration.

Visit Galveston is hosting a fireworks show over the seawall Saturday night at dusk.

They will also be hosting a drone show in the historic downtown strand district on Sunday night at dusk-- with a pre-drone show party in Saengerfest park featuring a DJ and music.

Aside from fireworks and drones, you can also take sandcastle building lessons at East Beach through September. How about Bucket Brigade tours Saturday and Sunday? Or maybe try a museum or shop downtown!

Galveston Island Wine Festival is also Labor Day weekend, and you can find tickets and info --> HERE.

Galveston is also a great place for experiential learning.

With its rich history, multiple museums and and STEM learning activities – there are plenty of ways to show kids how learning can be fun!

Watch as Lauren Kelly chats with Mackenzie Finklea, PR Manager - Visit Galveston, and Leah Cast, Homeschool Mom and PR Rep - Visit Galveston about all the amazing fun opportunities on the island.
