These Doctors in Bellaire are helping heal pain by harnessing your body’s own healing powers

HOUSTON – Dorian Castro’s quality of life was pretty much non-existent. Suffering nerve and lower back pain that hovered around a nine, he was worried his next steps toward finding relief would lead him to surgery. Then, he learned of the therapies available at NexGenEsis Healthcare.

“Our goal is to essentially put the body in the best position to heal itself,” explained Dr. Abhishek Reddy. At NexGenEsis, they draw upon the body’s ability to heal without the use of drugs or surgery.

“We use advanced therapies in the office and also our patients’ own natural biologics by extracting their own healthy cells and molecules, concentrating them and re-introducing them to the affected area. So, by using the patient’s own regenerative properties, we can speed up tissue and joint repair, giving them back their quality of life,” said Dr. Reddy.

When it comes to neuropathy or nerve pain, typically, symptoms are treated with Gabapentin or Lyrica.

“These medications don’t fix the problem and don’t stop the progression but only work as a band-aid while the condition ultimately gets worse. If it progresses enough, it can be debilitating, and a total amputation is a very real possibility. A lot of people go to their doctors and are told that once a nerve is damaged, there is nothing that can be done. That is not entirely true, thanks to advances in regenerative treatments,” explained Dr. Joe Fuhrman.

Dr. Fuhrman has a personal reason for wanting to help patients; his grandmother suffered neuropathy, which ultimately led to a leg amputation. Watching her suffer motivates him to help others before it is too late.
