Houstonian, Lisa Shurter is the author of “Go Taylor’s Boyfriend: A Swiftie’s Guide to Football”.
“I’m a lifelong football fan, I grew up in Texas, it’s kind of like a religion,” Shurter said.
Lisa admits her mom is the bigger NFL fan, her dad watches college football, and her husband is a diehard about both. She also has 2 daughters, Emma and Ally, who love Taylor Swift. Emma inspired the cover art of her mom’s book.
“When Taylor started showing up on the screen, I thought what a great opportunity to teach people about this game that I love,” she said.
Given Lisa’s background in education, writing a book seemed natural.
“I’m a teacher at heart,” she said.

“I didn’t want to make it overwhelming,” referring to the simplicity and length of the book.
Lisa took the time to quiz Houston Life on football knowledge and handed out friendship bracelets, nothing like some hard nose football.
