HOUSTON – From more than 100 years, the League of Women Voters of Houston has been promoting civic engagement and empowering voters to make their voices heard.
All year long, they are out in the community helping register voters and providing non-partisan education and support.
Priscila True, vice president of voter services, stops by Houston Life to share some of the commonly asked questions volunteers get about voter registration.
They also have their Houston Voters Guide to help voters navigate the process.
If you would like to check to see if you are registered to vote, you can visit texasvotes.gov or harrisvotes.gov to check your status.
True shared that if you need to register to vote, you have a few options to start the process. You can request a form online be sent to your home to mail back, or register in-person at your local Voter Registrar or with a Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrar (VDVR).
However, if you are already a registered voter, you can do a name change or change of address online through the Secretary of State’s website.
The deadline to register to vote for the November election is October 7, 2024.
