Cocktail Historian Elizabeth Pearce tells the story behind our favorite cocktails

HOUSTON – Elizabeth Pearce has one of the coolest jobs around.

She’s the author of “Drink Dat New Orleans: A Guide to The Best Cocktail Bars, Neighborhood Pubs and All Night Dives,” and she’s also a co-author of the book - “The French Quarter Drinking Companion.”

She’s also the founder and owner of Drink & Learn, is a Louisiana native and drinks historian who tells the story of New Orleans through its iconic beverages.

She is a regular convention speaker on this topic, so when it comes to booze, she can tell you everything you need to know - from how it started to how we make it today.

Elizabeth is in town tonight for a spirited dinner at Brennan’s of Houston, and will speak about the Vieux Carré, The Julep, The Ramos Gin Fizz, and Café Brûlot all paired with three courses of Brennan’s signature dishes.

During this truly fascinating event, Elizabeth shares tales of the people, places, and events that informed the drink’s creation, along with a healthy dose of cocktail-mixing advice.

Watch as she creates three popular cocktails with Tessa and Lauren, and gives them the story behind them all.
