HOUSTON – The holidays are right around the corner, and soon your home will be full of visiting friends and family ready to get out and explore Houston’s vibrant dining scene.
There are so many delicious destinations all over town. But if your guests are craving a truly “Texas” meal, here’s some recommendations from Tanji Patton of Goodtaste TV.
Patton recommends TRIBUTE at The Houstonian, Orleans Seafood Kitchen and Anthonie’s Market Grill.
Starting with a trip to The Houstonian.
Be sure to visit the Trellis Spa and experience their high tea for the holidays.
Then stick around for dinner at TRIBUTE.
Next, we’re going Cajun with some etouffee and gumbo from Orleans Seafood Kitchen. They have two locations - in Katy and Fulshear.
And, finally it doesn’t get more Texan than dining out in the countryside at Anthonie’s Market Grill in Simonton.
Good chance, you’ll see cows grazing in a pasture or someone on horseback as you head towards the restaurant.
If you need some help with happy hour this holiday season, Patton recommends these wines for your table.
She also shared two cocktails to add to your rotation.
A “Whale of a Toddy” featuring Gray Whale Gin, fresh lemon juice, honey syrup and apple cider. Garnished with an apple slice, rosemary sprig, grated nutmeg and grated cinnamon.
Then, a boozy take on hot chocolate featuring peanut butter, heavy whipping cream, sweeten condensed milk, regular milk, semi-sweet chocolate, salt and whiskey.
Watch “Goodtaste with Tanji” on KPRC 2 this Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday at 5:30 a.m.
