Houston – The 16th annual Houston Cinema Arts Festival kicks off today!
The line up promises a lineup of unique films, dozens of interactive experiences, and discussions with filmmakers that will celebrate Houston’s rich cultural diversity. The festival runs for 11 days across multiple venues in the city and offers Houstonians a chance to meet local and international stories on the big screen.
Katie Creeggan-Ríos, Executive Director of the Houston Cinema Arts Society joined Houston Latino Film Festival director Dave Cebrero to explain the festival’s mission and the partnership with the LFF.
One highlight to look forward to is the 10th-anniversary celebration of CineSpace, a competition in partnership with NASA that invites filmmakers from around the world to incorporate NASA archival footage into their films. Filmmaker Richard Linklater, a Houston native, will judge the CineSpace entries, with cash prizes awarded to the winners.
Tickets for individual screenings range from $10 to $18, while all-access passes for the full festival experience, including exclusive parties and concerts, are available for $250. Organizers from the Houston Cinema Arts Society were kind enough t offer a discount code for Houston life Viewers. When ordering tickets online, use code “HOUSTONLIFE” for 20% off.
