Houston – It’s the season of giving and Operation Turkey is gearing up for its annual mission of providing warm meals to thousands of families.
The organization was inspired by a heartfelt act of kindness when one man gave his leftovers to a homeless person. That simple gesture grew into a nationwide movement, serving hot meals in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
- Learn how the organization started and the impact it continues to have on the community: Operation Turkey needs your help to serve Thanksgiving meals to thousands of Houstonians.
Operation Turkey is looking for volunteers to help serve Thanksgiving meals to thousands of Houstonians. As a completely volunteer-based organization with no paid employees, every contribution, from donations to delivering meals, relies on the generosity of community members.
The goal is to distribute 12,500 meals this year, but they need your help. You can lend a hand at one of four locations to assemble meals, and volunteers of all ages are welcome. Feel free to bring your kids to help with a good cause. They can decorate the boxes with fun and uplifting images. Scroll below where and when you can help.
