Cocktailer and Beverage Director at hot new Houston bar Santé, Matthew Medina is known around town as the “Cocktail Cowboy.” Medina swung by the Houston Life studio to teach Tessa Barrera and Melanie Camp how to make zero-proof versions of some of the favorites on the menu at Santé. Inspired by Diego Rivera’s “The Flower Carrier” this modern classic blends freshly pressed lime, cilantro, and a kick of red chili with El Tequileno Reposado Tequila or Cut Above Agave Blanco to make it alcohol-free.
- 10 Cilantro Leaves (with stem)
- 1 Slice of Fresno Chili
- 3/4 oz Agave
- 1 oz Fresh lime Juice
- 2 oz Tequila or zero-proof Agave Blanco
IRISES
Inspired by Van Gogh’s “Irises,” this delicious twist on a gin & tonic blends Japanese Roku Gin infused with CHAIBOY Lavender, rooibos black tea, fresh lemon juice, and saffron honey served with Fever Tree Indian Tonic.
- 1/4 oz Saffron Honey
- 1/2oz Fresh Lemon Juice
- 2 oz Gin or Cut Above zero-proof Gin
- Topped with Fever Tree Indian Tonic
