HOUSTON – In an act of gratitude for Houston’s first responders, bp America is sponsoring First Responders Day at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo slated for Monday, March 10.
Today, they teamed up with Houston Life’s Mel Camp to deliver a surprise to some of those who risk their lives every day to protect the community. Houston Firefighters and paramedics from stations 28, 2, 3, and 60 met at station 28 today under the impression they were going to be doing a training exercise. The surprise was unveiled when Mel Camp, bp America Chairman and President Orlando Alvarez, and other bp America officials surprised the men and women with concert tickets to Brad Paisley’s upcoming performance at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on First Responders Day and pizza!
bp America has been actively involved in supporting local first responders since 2016, ensuring that the community remains safe and supported during crises like storms, floods, and other emergencies.
As part of the appreciation event, the first responders were treated to a much-needed break, enjoying the food and sharing stories about their daily experiences.

First Responders Day ceremony at 4:00 p.m. in NRG Center in room 602. They will honor our Line of Duty Deaths and celebrate our First Responders of the Year
The National Anthem will be performed by Patricia Williams, Adriane Veals and K’Yuana Nelson in NRG Stadium.
