What happened?

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez says the toddler and her mother, 31-year-old Morgan Ottiger, were in a car parked in the driveway, with the mother reportedly asleep or passed out.

Somehow, the toddler managed to get out of the car and was standing outside when the mother’s boyfriend, 40-year-old Cameron Link, pulled into the driveway and accidentally hit her.

Authorities say there was also a delay in calling 911 after the accident.

Charges against mother and boyfriend

Ottiger has been arrested and charged with Endangering a Child. Her boyfriend was taken into custody on open felony warrants for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Theft. Authorities found no signs of impairment.
