Catching up with musical sensation Daniel Seavey about his debut solo album and tour

HOUSTON – Fans may know musician Daniel Seavey from his time on American Idol in 2015 at just 15 years old, and then also as a member of the pop group ‘Why Don’t We’ in 2016, where he gained a massive following and released several successful albums.

But Daniel’s ear for music goes back way further than that. Technically he’s been playing music since the age of 4, when he stole his sister’s pink toy Barbie piano and played “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” ...BY EAR. (at FOUR years old!!)

His parents caught on to his love and passion for music and bought him every secondhand instrument they could afford; including a saxophone, banjo, bass, and drums. Or as Daniel says, “all the weird ones.” 😜

By the time he was 10 years old, he could play a number of instruments and was writing and singing original songs - and the rest we say...is history.

After Daniel’s band Why Don’t We went on hiatus in 2022, he continued making music and even toured the world with artists like Benson Boone and Dean Lewis.

Currently Daniel is focused on his solo career, releasing his highly anticipated full-length solo debut album ‘Second Wind’ and hitting the road to bring fans his music live.

He will be playing a concert here in Houston tonight (3/19) at the House of Blues, and you can get info on tickets --> HERE.

Watch as Lauren Kelly chats with Daniel all about his debut solo album, tour, and lots more.
