HOUSTON – In a season filled with family events and holiday parties, you want to look your best. And for that, what’s better than to look for runway inspiration to get the must-have looks for every occasion?
“By definition, trend is a print or a silhouette that kind of cycles back through fashion time and time again sometimes. But each season has it's new fresh twist or flavor. So, some of the things you are going to see today are very traditional,” said Caroline Harper Knapp, founder of lifestyle blog “House of Harper” and a fashion expert. She stopped by our studio to show us the latest trends to get you ready for winter, starting with timeless patterns like plaid or a seasonal favorite, sequins.
Sequins are perfect for Christmas parties and this season there is no change on that front, but this season sequins are no longer for nighttime.
“They are adding a spark to your day wear. No longer think of sequins for just holiday or New Year’s Eve. We are seeing it all over the runways, styled back with casual looks,” said Harper.
Other trends are more surprising, like leopard print or the western trend. “This trend was all over the New York, Paris and Milan runways,” said Harper, who gave us an advice on how to use this touch of rodeo for winter: “The bigger the better for this trend. Texas Knows."
