Antonio ‘AJ’ Armstrong Jr. heads to trial again Monday

KPRC 2′s ‘The Bench’ returns Monday before the scheduled third trial of Antonio ‘AJ’ Armstrong Jr.
Starting at 8 a.m. on KPRC 2+ Now, investigative reporter Joel Eisenbaum, Rilwan Balogun, and legal expert Letitia Quinones-Hollins will discuss what is expected to happen after a series of delays in the trial.
That includes the delay after discovering DNA evidence on Armstrong Jr.’s clothing. KPRC 2 Investigates first reported the finding.

Volunteer cited for feeding the homeless outside Houston Public Library in March found not guilty in criminal court

A volunteer who was ticketed by Houston Police for feeding the homeless outside the public library back in March was found not guilty in a criminal court trial earlier this week.
Phillip Picone is with the group Food Not Bombs, which has been operating since 1995, but because of a city ordinance, they have been asked to move their operations to a different location.
On Sunday, Picone held a press conference outside the Houston Library on Smith Street with civil rights lawyer Randall Kallinen and trial lawyer Paul Kubosh.

Cardi B tosses microphone after concertgoer throws drink at her on stage
Rapper Cardi B fought back after an audience member threw their drink at her while she was performing in Las Vegas, the latest in a troubling new habit of concertgoers throwing objects at performers.
The incident appears to have occurred during Cardi B’s scheduled performance at Drai’s Beachclub on Saturday. Video posted on social media shows that Cardi B was performing her hit “Bodak Yellow” when someone holding a large cup apparently flings the drink at her, dousing the rapper while she was on stage.

📖 Gas prices on the rise
Drivers saw a double-digit jump in gas prices at the pump this week. According to AAA, the national average for regular gasoline rose $0.12 over three days -- up to $3.71.
