I’m Ahmed Humble and KPRC 2 might as well be our Superhero name because if you haven’t noticed, when any of our reporters are asked to look into an issue, things get resolved/dealt with. Take, for example, last night’s story by our Rilwan Balogun.

A Houston grandmother, Bernadette Stinson, called KPRC 2 to help resolve issues with a utility box in front of her home. The box serves as a utility hub for several condos around her, but because of this, wires are filled to the brim and she’s left having to pay daily fines by her Homeowners Association.

Houston homeowners told remove utility box or pay fine

The company behind the utility box comes out once a month to clean the wires and says they can’t remove the box, but the fines were still accruing. Halfway into Rilwan’s interview with Stinson though, things started getting handled and all she could do was thank him and KPRC 2. “I would still probably be on the phone trying to be in touch with someone,” she said.


Houston Public Works director, in charge during major water-billing issues, is resigning

Carol Haddock’s 7-year tenure as director of Houston Public Works has been punctuated by problems in the last few years, primarily water issues. She’s also been the center of KPRC 2 Investigates 2-year-long DRAINED investigation into outrageous water bills.

Three families of people who died on the waiting list for liver transplants at Memorial Hermann Hospital have taken legal action against the surgeon accused of altering patient data.
