Man killed in southeast Houston identified

HOUSTON – An argument between two men turned into a deadly shooting Friday, police say.

Police said that about 6:30 p.m. two men were seen arguing on Phlox Street and one man pulled out a gun and shot the other.

The victim, identified as Sherman Rambo, 48, fell into a ditch, police said, and a witness heard him pleading for the other man to not kill him. Investigators said the gunman stood over Rambo and shot him several more times.

Rambo died at the scene.

Police described the gunman as black, about 6 feet tall, between 200 and 250 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored T-shirt, blue jeans a dark-colored baseball cap and a gold necklace. He was last seen driving a dark Suburban with 20-inch chrome rims and chrome trim along the bottom of the doors.
