HOUSTON – The owner of a 24-hour tire repair shop on Houston's south side released surveillance video Thursday in hopes of catching the two people who robbed his business and a customer at gunpoint.
"They knew that time was not on their side. So, it was very fast and everyone was OK," said Robert Moore, owner of the tire repair shop, which is located on 1313 South Loop West.
The robbery took place before 2 a.m. Thursday, Moore said.
Two vehicles pulled up, a Dodge Ram truck and a Toyota Camry. Moore said two people approached a technician, saying they needed a new tire.
J.R. Richards, the employee working at the time, said he saw when both vehicles pulled up. At first, he thought they needed assistance.
"I was helping a customer, then when I came out to see what they wanted, that's when they hit me up at gunpoint with his gun," Richards said.
Surveillance video recorded the pair, seen walking around the business in red hooded sweatshirts. Both Richards, the employee, and a customer were held at gunpoint.
"More than anything, the customer was shaken up. I mean, you're talking about a pistol aimed at someone's head," Moore said.
No one was hurt, but Moore said the pair robbed $150 from the customer before speeding off onto the South Loop.
Moore is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
Houston Police are investigating.
