HOUSTON – A two-vehicle crash involving a Harris County deputy Thursday closed all southbound lanes of Beltway 8 at Red Bluff Road.
The crash was reported just before 4:30 a.m. All lanes were reopened just before 6 a.m.

It appeared the deputy slammed into the back of a work convoy truck that was protecting a street sweeper
The Harris County Sheriff's Office tweeted that the deputy was "in good condition."
The deputy was taken to Bayshore Hospital, the sheriff's office said in the tweet.

No one else was injured.
The cause of the wreck is under investigation.
