Teen killed in Rosenberg crash

ROSENBERG, Texas – Rosenberg police are investigating a major car accident that claimed the life of a 17-year-old Saturday.

The accident involving two vehicles happened in the 2700 block of US Highway 59.

According investigators, Carlos Faibisch, 58, of Houston was driving an 18-wheeler northbound in the 2800 block of US Hwy 59 when Vondre Ratcliff, 18, of Richmond, entered the northbound lanes of the highway to cross at Cottonwood Church Road.

Ratcliff's Toyota Camry was struck broadside by the 18-wheeler.

Ratcliff and one of his three passengers, Brianna Castillo, 16, were seriously injured and airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital. A second passenger, Savanna Perez, 16, suffered minor injuris and was taken to Oak Bend

Ratcliff and Castillo were seriously injured and transported by life flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital, and Perez received minor injuries and was taken to OakBend Medical Center.
A third passenger, Gabrielle Garcia, 17, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
